This Sherlock (out of many) is based on Sherlock Holmes' Diary. Basically, Sherlock Holmes keeps a diary in which he talks about well, anything on his mind, including custard creams, his interfering brother, his massive crush on John Watson (who thinks he's extraordinary), and generally drives himself and everyone else mental.

Thus far this verse only runs up to not quite the end of season one.
